History

Jacobson Satchell Consultants is a professional consulting firm founded in Omaha, Nebraska in 1989. Jacobson Satchell Consultants opened a second office in Colorado in 1991. The founders' goal was to impliment a professional environmental consulting business that effectively integrates the capabilities of professional engineers and scientists by solving environmental problems for our clients.

The company began with three employees and now employs a staff of approximately 30, consisting of geologists, hydrogeologists, chemical, civil and environmental engineers, environmental scientists and support staff.

We develop long-standing relationships because of our attention to detail. We recently completed our 53rd task for one of our oldest clients, the City of Sidney, Nebraska. From water and wastewater treatment plants to pipelines, well fields, wetlands, and environmental assessments, Jacobson Satchell Consultants has done it all. We have worked for all levels of government, including federal, state, local, and special districts, as well as commercial and industrial clients. We are familiar with regulatory requirements, and comfortable working with governmental entities and funding agencies to complete projects. Our goal is always to produce reliable and cost-effective products. We will bring all our clients, big or small, and all our projects, simple or complex, high-quality engineering services. Local Sensitivity. We have formed wonderful working relationships with many communities in the Midwest and Rocky Mountain Regions. Our staff has dealt successfully with numerous cities, towns, and villages on a variety of public and private projects. Our environmental services are geared toward serving small to medium sized communities, districts, and industries. We are a small business ourselves. We, therefore, understand the unique needs of smaller communities. We will listen to your ideas, needs, and concerns, and integrate your operational, maintenance, and management knowledge into the project solutions and design while simultaneously meeting regulatory and technical requirements. We will communicate with the our client’s staff, elected officials, and the public to achieve an understanding of the project goals, alternative evaluation criteria, and recommendations. Our staff recognizes the importance of prompt and responsive service to the needs of our clients.

Objectivity. The Jacobson Satchell Consultants team will strive to bring an objective approach to projects. We will not bring preconceived outcomes into an assignment. We make every effort to provide a complete lack of bias to find the optimal long term, cost-effective solution to problems. We will take a “fresh look” at the needs of our clients.

Premier Project Management. Jacobson Satchell Consultants brings to you Project Managers with extensive experience in managing all facets of environmental services. Thomas Satchell and Dale Jacobson, Jacobson Satchell Consultants’s Principals are directly involved in each project completed. They are Board Certified Environmental Engineers with the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. Dale Jacobson obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska and brings his expertise into every project. Jacobson Satchell Consultants also believes in developing future project managers within the company by immersing you employees into project management understanding and supporting educational management endeavors. Our Principals and project managers have demonstrated their ability to bring technical and managerial expertise together for the benefit of our clients.

Responsiveness. Jacobson Satchell Consultants has the staff resources and the desire to complete any endeavor we embark upon. We recognize the importance of prompt and responsive service to all of our clients. We believe that in order to best serve our clientele, we must consider ourselves an extension of their own professional staff. Jacobson Satchell Consultants will strive to understand all requirements of a project and will complete tasks within the established time frame and budgets. Our Project Manager and the design team members will be available to our clients at all times. We will attend regular meetings, site visits, and fieldwork to gather the information necessary to meet the needs of our Clients.

Technical Expertise. Our team brings to our clients engineers, scientists, and geologists with extensive expertise in all aspects of environmental services. We will bring all of the necessary expertise to perform start-to-finish services from conceptual design to project completion. Our engineers and geologists are professionally registered, and our Principals are Board Certified Environmental Engineers by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, thus attesting to their expertise and standing within the profession. Our principals and project managers have demonstrated their ability to bring technical and managerial expertise together for the benefit of our clients. Jacobson Satchell Consultants will bring together the total expertise necessary to complete our clients’ project to their highest satisfaction.














Company Personnel

Principal (Omaha) - Mr. C. Dale Jacobson, P.E., BCEE, a founding principal of Jacobson Satchell Consultants, Inc., has 40 years of engineering experience and is a registered professional engineer in Nebraska. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska. He is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. His direct involvement in environmental engineering projects includes experience in municipal and industrial wastewater, solid waste, hazardous waste, underground storage tanks, low-level radioactive waste and environmental site assessments. Mr. Jacobson has served in the capacity as Project Principal/Project Manager on numerous projects involving planning, design and construction administration. He maintains a detailed, working knowledge of current federal and state environmental laws and regulations.

Principal (Lakewood) - Mr. Thomas T. Satchell, P.E., BCEE is a Principal of Jacobson Satchell Consultants, Inc. and a Board Certified Environmental Engineer by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Nebraska. His direct involvement in environmental engineering projects spans a 39-year period with emphasis on design and construction. His project management background includes planning studies, design and construction administration for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs, and water distribution and wastewater collection systems. He maintains a detailed, working knowledge of current federal and state environmental laws and regulations. Mr. Satchell has served as Project Manager and Senior Technical Reviewer for numerous environmental projects and has been deeply involved in the evaluation of complex projects in order to reduce cost while maintaining project integrity.

Vice President of Colorado Operations - Mr. Matthew J. Benak, P.E. holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and has been working in the environmental engineering field since 1995. Mr. Benak is Vice President of Jacobson Satchell Consultants, Inc. where his major areas of responsibility are project management and business development. His major areas of technical expertise include wastewater treatment plant improvement design, sewer collection system improvement design, construction oversight, water distribution system improvement design, air emission quantification, environmental site assessments, spill containment and stormwater planning, and underground storage tank improvement design. Mr. Benak has also been involved in Preliminary Engineering Report and Environmental Assessment development and funding application assistance for several communities and special districts requiring water and/or wastewater system improvements. Mr. Benak is active in the Colorado section of American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC/CO) on both the water resources and environmental committees.
